Each unit will focus on themes of social studies, economic understandings, government understandings, historical understandings, and geographic understandings of countries in Southwest Asia, Southern and Eastern Asia, and Africa. The focus of the first unit is “Connecting themes” and enduring understandings rather than specific standards that will be integrated throughout the Social Studies curriculum. Various graphic organizers, PowerPoint presentations, short videos, research activities, games, and performance tasks will be used in the learning process.
